RUSD Early Childhood offers Full Day / Part Day Head Start, State Preschool and Subsidized Preschool programs for children ages 3-4 years at 19 different sites across the district.

Twenty-five Riverside Unified students earned a total of 31 awards, including 20 gold medals, at the 2026 Riverside County Science and Engineering Fair on February 28.

Shani Dahl is the proud principal of Central Middle School of Arts and Innovation in Riverside Unified School District. Recognized as the 2023 ACSA Region 19 Middle School Principal of the Year and a former RUSD Principal of the Year, Ms. Dahl is known for her passionate leadership, positive energy, and deep commitment to student success. The Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Sonia Llamas as the next Superintendent of the Riverside Unified School District. At its June 26 meeting, the Riverside Unified Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Llamas. Her first day as Superintendent will be July 14.
